Applied Economics for Managers
Scarcity forces individuals, firms, and societies to choose among competing uses of limited resources, and this MIT Sloan School of Management course builds its microeconomics core around that problem. Lectures and course materials cover how economists model consumer and firm choice, how markets coordinate these decisions, and how well markets achieve efficiency by standard economic criteria. The course folds in selected macroeconomics and international trade topics, then applies the whole toolkit to corporate decisions and public policy questions, from pricing choices to reading shifts in the U.S. and global business environment. Materials emphasize combining theory, data, and judgment rather than treating models in isolation. Offered through MIT OpenCourseWare, the course includes lecture notes, readings, and assignments used in the original MIT classroom, free to access under an open license with no certificate attached.
