Michael Hatridge: Measurement in cQED
In this lecture from the Yale Quantum Institute Course on Quantum Error Correction, held at Yale University in July 2025 in partnership with North Carolina A&T, Michael Hatridge covers measurement techniques in circuit quantum electrodynamics, the platform used in much of Yale's own superconducting qubit research. The lecture explains how measurement is performed on superconducting qubits and why accurate, fast measurement is essential to running error correction protocols in practice. As the closing session of the short course, it ties the theoretical decoding and encoding material from earlier lectures back to the experimental hardware used to implement quantum error correction.
