A graduate-level course from MIT's Sloan School of Management on how firms compete and organize across borders. The course builds in three sections: frameworks for spotting opportunities in country and industry-level global dynamics, firm-level choices about which activities to locate where and how to own or outsource them, and the organizational challenges of integrating the multiple functions and interests inside a multinational company. Materials from MIT OpenCourseWare include the syllabus, readings, and assignments used in the actual Sloan classroom. The course is aimed at students who already have some grounding in strategy or international business and want conceptual tools for decisions on market entry, location, outsourcing, and cross-border management structure. Free to access, with no certificate offered.
