Introduction to Robotics
Robot mechanisms, dynamics, and intelligent control form the core of this MIT OpenCourseWare course from the Mechanical Engineering department. Lectures cover planar and spatial kinematics, motion planning, mechanism design for manipulators and mobile robots, multi-rigid-body dynamics, and 3D graphic simulation, along with control design, actuators, sensors, wireless networking, task modeling, and human-machine interfaces. Weekly laboratories give hands-on experience with servo drives, real-time control, and embedded software, and the course culminates in a group term project where students design and fabricate a working robotic system.
