Introduction to Civil and Environmental Engineering Design I
MIT OpenCourseWare offers this sophomore design course from Civil and Environmental Engineering, built on Harold Hemond's 1.101 offering. The curriculum runs through three design tasks: a water resources and treatment problem, a structural design problem, and a conceptual redesign of Boston's Back Bay as a large urban system. The first two tasks require students to design, fabricate, and test physical hardware, backed by laboratory experiments and lectures covering the conceptual and experimental foundations of each domain.
