Microeconomic Theory II
A graduate-level introduction to noncooperative game theory from MIT, covering the mathematical tools economists use to model strategic interaction. Topics include static and dynamic games of complete and incomplete information, Nash equilibrium and its refinements, subgame perfection, repeated games, and applications to bargaining and industrial organization. The course is designed for economics PhD students building a research foundation in economic theory, following on from MIT's 14.121, and is also open to other qualified students. Materials on MIT OpenCourseWare include lecture notes, problem sets, and exam materials, letting learners work through the formal proofs and equilibrium concepts at their own pace. There is no instructor interaction or certificate, but the full curriculum structure of a rigorous PhD-level theory sequence is present.
