MIT Sloan School of Management's application-oriented introduction to optimization for managers and engineers designing and running complex systems. The course covers linear, nonlinear, integer, and network optimization along with heuristic solution methods, and it teaches sensitivity and post-optimality analysis for interpreting model results. Multiple industry application domains illustrate how optimization models get used in real decision making, and the material builds toward identifying opportunities for optimization-based decision support tools and managing their implementation. Materials come from MIT OpenCourseWare and include lecture notes and assignments typical of a Sloan graduate course, free to access with no certificate offered.
