A survey of the principal concepts and methods of fluid dynamics from MIT OpenCourseWare. Topics include mass conservation, momentum, and energy equations for continua, the Navier-Stokes equation for viscous flows, similarity and dimensional analysis, lubrication theory, boundary layers and separation, circulation and vorticity theorems, potential flow, an introduction to turbulence, lift and drag, and surface tension driven flows. The course follows MIT's mechanical engineering curriculum and is built around lecture notes, problem sets, and exams made freely available through OCW, giving students the full structure of a graduate-level fluid mechanics course without enrollment. No certificate is offered, but all course materials are open for self-study.
