Created by MIT Solve for MITx and now archived on the Open Learning Library, this course helps early-stage social impact startups build clear business and impact plans. Lessons draw on case studies from nonprofit and for-profit social enterprises around the world, examining how founders define their mission, structure their business model, and measure impact. Modules cover topics such as identifying target beneficiaries, articulating a theory of change, and communicating results to funders and partners. Materials are free to view and use without enrolling, though creating an account lets you track progress through each module. There is no instructor-led component; the course is fully self-paced and text-and-video based, aimed at social entrepreneurs and students interested in nonprofit or hybrid business models.
