Chinese III (Streamlined)
An intermediate Chinese course from MIT OpenCourseWare for students who came into the streamlined sequence with some prior background in the language, whether that meant listening comprehension with limited speaking or already fluent speech. The course builds standard pronunciation and usage while pushing into reading in both complex and simplified characters and into writing practice. It assumes students already know the pinyin system well enough to read texts written in it, though pinyin tutorials are available for anyone who needs a refresher. Materials follow MIT's OpenCourseWare format, drawing on the same syllabus, readings, and assignments used in the on-campus streamlined Chinese sequence, making it suited to learners continuing from Streamlined I and II rather than absolute beginners. As with other MIT OCW offerings, the course is free to access and includes no certificate.
