Compressible Fluid Dynamics
MIT OpenCourseWare's 2.26 covers the fundamentals of compressible gas flow at an honors level, aimed at mechanical engineering students who already have thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer under their belt. Topics include conservation laws for compressible flow, propagation of disturbances, isentropic flow, normal and oblique shock waves, weak and strong shocks and shock structure, flow in ducts with area change, friction, or heat addition, heat transfer to high speed flows, unsteady flows with Riemann invariants, piston and shock tube problems, steady two dimensional supersonic flow, the Prandtl-Meyer function, and self-similar compressible flows.
