Continuum Electromechanics
MIT OpenCourseWare offers this advanced graduate course on the laws and approximations governing continuum electromechanics. It covers mechanical and electromechanical transfer relations, statics and dynamics of electromechanical systems at equilibrium, electromechanical flows, and coupling of electric and magnetic fields with thermal and molecular diffusion. Further topics include electrokinetics, streaming interactions, magnetohydrodynamic and electrohydrodynamic pumps and generators, ferrohydrodynamics, physiochemical systems, heat transfer, continuum feedback control, electron beam devices, and plasma dynamics. Materials include problem sets and exams with full solutions, transcribed into LaTeX, giving students worked examples across each topic area. The course is aimed at students with a background in electromagnetism and fluid mechanics who want to apply continuum theory to real electromechanical devices. No certificate is offered, but all lecture notes and assignments are freely downloadable from MIT OpenCourseWare.
