Dynamics
MIT OpenCourseWare's Dynamics course covers Newtonian mechanics for engineering students, including kinematics, motion relative to accelerated reference frames, work and energy, impulse and momentum, and two- and three-dimensional rigid body dynamics. Special attention goes to aerospace applications such as orbital mechanics, flight dynamics, inertial navigation, and attitude dynamics. By the end, students should be able to build idealized particle and rigid body dynamical models and predict how they respond to applied forces. The course, from MIT's Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics, is provided as free OpenCourseWare materials, including lecture notes, problem sets, and exams, with no certificate offered. It is aimed at students who already have a background in introductory physics and calculus and want a structured, semester-length treatment of mechanics oriented toward engineering practice.
