Economic Analysis for Business Decisions
This MIT Sloan School core microeconomics subject builds the analytical toolkit managers use to make pricing, production, and strategy decisions. Lectures cover cost analysis, market demand, market structure, and pricing strategy, then move into strategic interaction among firms under oligopoly and monopolistic competition. Later sessions apply the same tools to government regulatory policy, incentive plans, auctions, and transfer pricing, connecting textbook microeconomics to decisions firms actually face. The course, numbered 15.010 for Sloan students and 15.011 for others, is published through MIT OpenCourseWare and includes lecture notes, problem sets, and exams with solutions, free to access under MIT's open license. It suits anyone who wants a rigorous, business-oriented treatment of microeconomic theory rather than a general survey, and assumes some prior exposure to economics.
