Game theory studies decisions whose payoffs depend on what other people choose, and this MIT OpenCourseWare course builds the field's basic toolkit before applying it mainly to economics. Lecture notes and course materials cover core solution concepts such as Nash equilibrium, along with applications to auctions, bargaining, and strategic behavior in markets. The course also points to how the same tools apply beyond economics, in politics, law, biology, and computer science. Materials are drawn from MIT's actual course offering and include readings and problem sets used in the original class. As with other MIT OCW courses, there are no graded assignments submitted for credit and no certificate, but the full set of lecture materials is available to work through at your own pace.
