A graduate-level MIT OpenCourseWare subject on electromagnetic theory, taught through the Department of Nuclear Science and Engineering. The course builds from electrostatics and magnetostatics through electromagnetic radiation, then moves into applications including transmission lines, waveguides, antennas, scattering, and shielding. Later material covers charged particle collisions, Bremsstrahlung radiation, and Cerenkov radiation, connecting classical field theory to nuclear and radiation physics problems. As with other MIT OCW offerings, the site provides lecture notes, problem sets, and course materials free to use, with no certificate attached. The emphasis throughout is on rigorous derivation of field equations and their application to real physical phenomena encountered in nuclear engineering, making this suited to students who already have a solid grounding in electromagnetism and want to extend it toward radiation and particle interactions.
