Entrepreneurial Finance
MIT Sloan's 15.431 covers the financial decisions facing technology startups and the investors who fund them. Topics include how much capital to raise and when, choosing investors, valuing early-stage companies, structuring funding rounds and employment contracts, and planning exit strategies. The course also examines the structure of the private equity and venture capital industry, preparing students to think from both the entrepreneur's and the venture capitalist's side of the table. Materials available through MIT OpenCourseWare include lecture notes, readings, and assignments used in the original Sloan School of Management course. No certificate is offered, but all course materials are free to access and use under MIT's open license.
