Game Theory for Managers
MIT Sloan School of Management offers this half-term course on strategic decision making in competitive situations. The curriculum is organized around three themes for gaining advantage in games: commitment and strategic moves, exploiting hidden information, and dealing with limited rationality. Students examine how managers face strategic interactions not only within a firm but with competitors, customers, regulators, and capital markets. Course materials, distributed through MIT OpenCourseWare, include lecture notes, readings, and assignments that build a framework for thinking through complex interactive decisions. The course targets advanced students who want a working knowledge of game theory applied directly to business and management settings, rather than abstract mathematical game theory alone. As with other MIT OpenCourseWare offerings, all materials are free to access and there is no certificate attached.
