Integrated Chemical Engineering I
MIT OpenCourseWare offers the course materials for this chemical engineering class, which covers reaction kinetics, batch reactor analysis, and batch distillation as the entry point into process design. Students work through batch operations scheduling and safety analysis while learning to use the ABACUSS process simulator to model and test chemical processes before they exist in hardware. The course is built around case-style problem sets that push students to apply kinetics and reactor theory to realistic plant scenarios rather than abstract equations alone. Materials include lecture notes, assignments, and simulator exercises, published under MIT's open license for self-paced study. No certificate is offered, since this is an OpenCourseWare archive rather than a live class, but the full set of course materials is free to download and use.
