Intermediate Macroeconomic Theory
MIT OpenCourseWare's advanced survey of modern macroeconomics covers the neoclassical growth model, overlapping generations, endogenous growth theory, business cycles, incomplete nominal adjustment, incomplete financial markets, fiscal and monetary policy, consumption and savings, and unemployment. Alongside the economic content, the course doubles as an introduction to the mathematical tools that underpin modern macro modeling, including dynamic systems, optimal control, and dynamic programming. Materials include lecture notes, problem sets, and exams as provided through MIT OpenCourseWare, free to access under a Creative Commons license. The course is pitched at students who already have an intermediate grounding in economics and want the formal machinery behind growth and business cycle models, rather than a first pass at macroeconomic concepts.
