Introduction to Housing, Community and Economic Development
This MIT OpenCourseWare course introduces the field of Housing, Community, and Economic Development (HCED), examining how public policy and private markets shape housing outcomes, local economies, and neighborhood institutions. Students review techniques for framing public and private interventions aimed at inner city and low income neighborhoods, and critique specific programs and strategies used in local development and neighborhood regeneration over the years.
