Introduction to Psychology
Paul Bloom's survey of the scientific study of thought and behavior, recorded at Yale in Spring 2007 across 20 lectures plus two exams and guest lectures from Peter Salovey, Marvin Chun, Kelly Brownell, and Susan Nolen-Hoeksema. The course covers perception, memory, language, decision-making, sex, morality, and mental illness, opening with foundational units on Freud and Skinner before moving into how these processes develop in children and break down through injury or disease. Grading combines a midterm, a final, ten weekly reading responses, and one book review, with sample exams posted on the course site.
