MIT Sloan's Investments course covers the financial theory and empirical evidence behind investment decisions. Topics include portfolio theory, equilibrium models of security prices such as the capital asset pricing model and arbitrage pricing theory, the empirical behavior of security prices, market efficiency, performance evaluation, and behavioral finance. The course is delivered through MIT OpenCourseWare and includes lecture notes, assignments, and readings drawn from academic finance literature, aimed at students who already have a grounding in basic finance concepts. There is no instructor interaction or certificate; materials are provided for self-study under MIT's open license. This is an advanced treatment intended to connect classroom models of asset pricing to real market data and investor behavior.
