Japanese VI
An advanced continuation course in Japanese language study from MIT, designed to build listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills together rather than in isolation. Materials draw on authentic everyday Japanese media, from broadcasts to print sources, to give students exposure to how the language is actually used rather than textbook approximations. The course combines structured lessons with cultural immersion, covering topics that come up in daily Japanese life and discourse. It was offered as an experimental version of MIT's 21G.506, blending in-person sessions with synchronous remote instruction, and includes MIT OpenCourseWare's typical syllabus, assignments, and course materials available under a Creative Commons license. Suited to students who have completed earlier levels of Japanese and want to keep progressing across all four core language skills at once.
