Lab in Psycholinguistics
MIT's hands-on lab course in psycholinguistics guides students through designing, running, analyzing, and presenting original experiments on the structure and processing of human language. Students work toward an independent experimental project intended to be of publishable quality, learning to evaluate methods sections of published papers, interpret graphical displays and statistical claims, and assess theoretical arguments against experimental data. The course builds skills in scientific writing and oral presentation, with structured practice in both.
