Land, Water, Food, and Climate
MIT OpenCourseWare presents this reading seminar on the connections between natural resources and food production. Students work through papers on water and land resources, climate change, demography, agroecology, biotechnology, trade, and food security, supplemented by short lectures that provide context and summarize key points. The course surveys scientific controversies alongside areas of consensus and examines practical solutions to problems tied to feeding a growing population under climate stress. Materials include the full reading list, lecture notes, and assignments from MIT's Civil and Environmental Engineering department. There is no certificate, but all course materials are freely available for self-study under MIT OCW's open license.
