Intensive Neuroanatomy
A detailed survey of the central and peripheral nervous systems from MIT OpenCourseWare. The course opens with the development and major divisions of the CNS and PNS, then works through the spinal cord's ascending and descending tracts, brainstem organization, cranial nerve nuclei, and the cerebellar and vestibular systems. Later sessions cover the diencephalon and telencephalon, motor systems including motor units and medial and lateral pathways, and the visual, auditory, and somatosensory systems. Olfaction is treated within the limbic system alongside autonomic control and the Papez circuit, and the course closes with the functional organization of the neocortex.
