Ian Shapiro, Sterling Professor of Political Science and Global Affairs at Yale, takes up the problem of chronic wage insecurity in this DeVane Lecture from his course Power and Politics in Today's World. Building on the previous session's discussion of contemporary politics, he asks how governments might respond to unemployment and re-employment in economies where steady, well paid work is no longer guaranteed for most workers.
