MIT Sloan School of Management course on organizing technology-driven innovation in both startups and established firms. The material covers innovation-based strategy as a source of competitive advantage, the mechanics of the innovation process, and organizational design choices such as stage-gate systems and portfolio management. Topics include building a culture that rewards innovation, drawing on internal and external sources of new ideas, and structuring firms, whether young ventures or incumbents, to continuously commercialize new technology. The course is aimed at managers and covers how entrepreneurial firms can scale their innovation practices and how established companies can act more entrepreneurially.
