Real Estate Economics
MIT's Center for Real Estate offers this course on the macroeconomic forces shaping markets for real property. The curriculum builds the theory of land markets and locational choice, then applies it to changing economic activities, demographic trends, transportation systems and local government behavior as they affect real estate values and development. Materials come through MIT OpenCourseWare and include lecture notes, readings and assignments used in the original MIT Sloan School of Management and Urban Studies and Planning course. The course is aimed at students who already have some grounding in economics and want to understand why land and property markets behave the way they do at a regional and metropolitan scale. All content is free to access and reuse under MIT OpenCourseWare's license, with no certificate offered.
