Spanish II
Spanish II builds on Spanish I using the second half of Destinos, a video-based Spanish soap opera produced for public television, to keep developing listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. Students follow the continuing telenovela storyline while working through structured lessons tied to each episode, alongside supplementary Spanish-language films, varied reading selections, and additional online resources chosen to deepen vocabulary and grammar. The course, from MIT OpenCourseWare, is organized around a syllabus of weekly video segments paired with comprehension and writing exercises, building toward more complex sentence structures and cultural context than the first course covered. Materials include the video series, readings, and assignments; there is no institutional credential or certificate attached, consistent with MIT's open courseware model. It suits learners who completed an introductory Spanish course and want a continued, narrative-driven way to practice the language.
