MIT OpenCourseWare offers this course on writing and presenting mathematics clearly, built around the topic of chaotic dynamical systems as a case study. Students work through written assignments and oral presentations that require translating technical results into readable prose and clear talks, practicing structure, notation choices, and audience awareness. Materials include lecture notes, assignment prompts, and readings drawn from the chaotic dynamics literature, used as raw material for exposition rather than as an end in themselves. The course is designed for students who already have some mathematical background and want to improve how they communicate proofs, definitions, and results in writing and speech. As with other MIT OpenCourseWare offerings, all materials are free to access online and there is no certificate.
