Special Seminar in Marketing: Marketing Management
MIT Sloan's graduate marketing seminar introduces core marketing concepts and phenomena, then builds skill in marketing analysis and planning through case discussion and original research. The course draws on market research methods, competitive analysis, and marketing science to examine how firms position products, price them, and respond to competitors. Students present recommendations orally and in writing, then defend them while critiquing classmates' analyses, so the seminar doubles as training in argument and persuasion as much as marketing theory. Materials available through MIT OpenCourseWare include the syllabus, case assignments, and readings used in the actual MIT class. No enrollment or certificate is offered; the course is free to study independently at your own pace.
