Taxes and Business Strategy
MIT Sloan School of Management's course on how taxes shape business decisions rather than just how they are administered. The course builds a framework for spotting tax planning opportunities across investment, financing, and organizational choices, connecting tax rules to broader corporate strategy instead of treating them as a compliance afterthought. Materials available through MIT OpenCourseWare include lecture notes, readings, and problem sets covering topics such as the effect of taxes on the choice between debt and equity, entity structure, compensation planning, and multinational tax issues. As an advanced elective, it assumes some background in finance or accounting. There is no instructor interaction or certificate; the value is the self-contained set of course materials, free to download and use under MIT's open license.
