MIT Sloan's graduate course examines how digitization reshapes industry structure, organizational design, and business strategy. Topics include pricing, bundling, and versioning of digital goods such as music, video, software, and communication services, along with the managerial implications of social networks, search, targeted advertising, personalization, privacy, network externalities, open source, and strategic alliances. Materials come from MIT OpenCourseWare and typically include lecture notes, readings, and assignments used in the Sloan School classroom version of the course. The course is aimed at students who want a rigorous economic framework for understanding why information goods behave differently from physical ones and how firms build strategy around that difference. No certificate is offered, but the full course content is free to access and self-paced.
