Advanced Data Structures
Data structures underpin much of modern computer science, from search engines to network routers to the algorithms built on top of them. This MIT OpenCourseWare course covers major results and current research directions in data structures, including topics such as van Emde Boas trees, persistent and retroactive structures, hashing, integer and string data structures, and structures for dynamic graphs and geometry. Materials include lecture notes and problem sets drawn from an MIT graduate-level course taught within the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science department. The course assumes prior exposure to basic data structures and algorithm analysis and is aimed at students who want to see how theoretical results translate into efficient designs. As with other MIT OCW offerings, all materials are free to access under a Creative Commons license, with no certificate offered.
