Advanced Topics in Cryptography
This MIT OpenCourseWare course examines the theoretical foundations of modern cryptography beyond an introductory level. Topics include interactive proofs, zero-knowledge proofs and zero-knowledge proofs of knowledge, non-interactive zero-knowledge proofs, secure two-party and multiparty computation protocols, and chosen-ciphertext security. The course draws on research papers and formal definitions to build rigorous arguments about what can be proven or computed without revealing secret information. Materials include lecture notes and problem sets used in MIT's electrical engineering and computer science curriculum, suitable for students who already know basic cryptographic primitives and want to work through the proofs and protocols underlying secure computation. As with other MIT OpenCourseWare offerings, all materials are free to access under a Creative Commons license, with no certificate offered.
