MIT OpenCourseWare offers this graduate subject on quantitative models of biomolecular interactions, cross-listed in Biological Engineering and Chemical Engineering. Lectures build kinetic and equilibrium mathematical frameworks for analyzing molecular binding, signaling, and receptor-ligand systems, then extend them to cell population behavior, covering scales from single molecular events to tissue-level dynamics. Materials include lecture notes, problem sets, and readings drawn from primary literature, following MIT's standard OCW format. The course assumes background in biology, chemistry, and differential equations, and is aimed at students who want to model biological systems rigorously rather than describe them qualitatively. No certificate is offered, consistent with OCW's self-study model, and the material is free to access and reuse under a Creative Commons license.
