Jennifer Carbrey and Emma Jakoi's Duke course walks through all nine major organ systems of the human body across 10 modules, roughly 3 weeks at 10 hours a week. It starts with homeostasis, fluid compartments, and the endocrine system, then covers the nervous system, senses, muscle, cardiovascular and respiratory systems, reproduction, digestion, and the kidney's role in fluid and acid-base balance. Each module has videos with in-video questions, written notes, and an ungraded problem set for self-review, plus a graded exam; the cardiovascular module also includes an optional virtual-reality experience that shrinks you down to navigate blood vessels. Duke pitches it as usable MCAT prep or a refresher for working health professionals, built on a basic anatomy foundation. The course materials are free to audit through Coursera's no-certificate track.
