Herb Gross, a longtime MIT senior lecturer, walks through the core topics of a freshman single-variable calculus course in a series of recorded lectures produced by MIT OpenCourseWare. The videos cover functions, limits, differentiation, and integration, with an emphasis on the underlying logic of each technique rather than quick problem-solving tricks. Originally recorded in 1970 as a refresher for people who had already taken calculus, the series also works as a first introduction, moving at a deliberate pace and building each idea from the one before it. Materials include the full video set plus supporting notes, and everything is free to access with no certificate track attached. It is a straightforward, lecture-based route through the standard calculus curriculum, useful either as a primary course or as review before tackling higher-level math.
