Elliptic Curves
Elliptic curves get a computationally focused treatment in this MIT course, building from the basic algebraic and geometric definitions up to their role in number theory and cryptography. Topics include the group law on elliptic curves, points over finite fields, elliptic curve cryptography, modular forms, and an overview of the proof of Fermat's Last Theorem. The course is designed as an introduction but moves quickly toward advanced material, assuming a solid background in abstract algebra. Materials available through MIT OpenCourseWare include lecture notes, problem sets, and readings, all free to access.
