Feedback control theory from MIT OpenCourseWare, covering the design and analysis of feedback systems for electrical and mechanical engineering. The course works through time-domain and frequency-domain performance measures, stability and degree of stability, the root locus method, and the Nyquist criterion, then moves into frequency-domain design and compensation techniques. Applications include internal and external compensation of operational amplifiers, modeling and compensation of power converter systems, and phase lock loops, showing how the same feedback principles apply across very different physical systems. Materials include lecture notes, problem sets, and exams as published by MIT, with no instructor video lectures but a full topic sequence suitable for self-study. No certificate is offered, consistent with standard MIT OpenCourseWare distribution, and all materials are free to use under a Creative Commons license.
