Generating Business Value from Information Technology
MIT Sloan's graduate course examines why some companies turn information technology into a strategic asset while others struggle to get value from IT investments. Drawing on research and case studies from the MIT Sloan Center for Information Systems Research, the course covers business operating models, IT investment and prioritization decisions, aligning business strategy with IT, governance of digitized processes, and the changing role of the IT unit within a firm. It looks at how increased digitization reshapes both business strategy and day-to-day operating models, and at how general managers and IT executives can work together toward operational excellence and business agility.
