MIT Sloan's 15.389A pairs student teams with the leadership of growing start-ups operating outside the United States, with a focus on emerging markets across the Asia-Pacific region. Students combine a hands-on internship, running or consulting for the new enterprise, with in-class sessions covering the policies and conditions that shape innovation and start-up success internationally. Course materials on OpenCourseWare include the syllabus, session topics, and assignment structure used to prepare and debrief the internship experience. It is one half of a two-part offering; a companion course, 15.389B, covers Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa. The course is aimed at students ready to work directly with founders and management teams, translating classroom discussion of emerging-market entrepreneurship into a real consulting engagement abroad.
