MIT OpenCourseWare's theory-focused counterpart to 18.03 covers ordinary differential equations with more emphasis on proofs and underlying structure than the standard version. Topics include first order equations and separation of variables, initial value problems, systems of linear equations, independence of solutions, undetermined coefficients, and the behavior of singular points and periodic orbits in planar systems. The course includes lecture notes, problem sets, and exams typical of MIT's OCW offerings, letting students work through the theoretical underpinnings of differential equations rather than just computational techniques. No enrollment or certificate is offered since OCW is a self-study archive of MIT's actual course materials, free to use under a Creative Commons license.
