How to Learn (Almost) Anything
MIT's Media Lab offers this course on how new technologies reshape learning itself. Students take part in hands-on, immersive learning situations, then design and run their own workshops using Media Lab tools, refining them through iteration and studying how participants actually learn. The course treats learning as a design problem: what can be taught through tinkering, play, and physical interaction that lecture-based instruction cannot reach. Materials include the syllabus, workshop assignments, and project guidelines as published on MIT OpenCourseWare, free to access under a Creative Commons license. The focus stays practical throughout, asking students to build and test their own tools for teaching rather than only study theories of pedagogy. It suits anyone curious about experiential education or considering how to design a workshop, class, or curriculum around active participation rather than passive absorption of content.
