Japanese II
This MIT OpenCourseWare course continues introductory Japanese using Genki I, lessons 7 through 12, building on basic conversation, reading, and writing skills. The emphasis is on active use of the language rather than memorized rules: by the end of the course students should be able to hold a conversation in Japanese covering everyday topics such as daily routines, invitations, and past events. The course also introduces roughly 90 additional kanji characters, expanding students' ability to read and write beyond the beginner set. Materials include the course syllabus, lesson-by-lesson schedule, and assignments drawn from the Genki textbook, following MIT's standard OCW format of free lecture notes and exercises without video lectures. No certificate is offered, consistent with MIT OCW's self-study model.
