Kanji Learning Any Time, Any Place for Japanese VI
This MIT OpenCourseWare resource teaches the kanji characters covered in Tobira lessons 6 through 10, aimed at students continuing into intermediate Japanese. The material consists of a series of video lectures that demonstrate stroke order and correct writing technique for each character, paired with short explanations of the historical or pictographic stories behind them, a method meant to make the characters easier to remember than rote copying alone. The videos are organized lesson by lesson to match the Tobira textbook sequence, so learners can review kanji tied to whatever vocabulary they are studying at the time. There are no assignments or exams bundled with the videos, so this works best as a supplementary kanji reference alongside a full Japanese course rather than a standalone language class. Free to access through MIT OpenCourseWare.
