Managing Transformations in Work, Organizations, and Society
MIT Sloan School of Management's graduate course examines how managers adapt to sweeping changes in work, organizations, and their relationships with society. Topics include the changing social contract at work, integrating work and family life, managing diversity, building strategic labor-management partnerships, and handling relations between firms and their many stakeholders. Materials on MIT OpenCourseWare include the syllabus, readings, and session-by-session topic breakdowns drawn from a course originally taught to a mix of on-campus students, distance learners, and industry professionals, with one session linked to a parallel course at Cambridge University. The course was also used as the basis for a workshop at Sloan's 50th Anniversary Convocation. No video lectures are included, but the full reading list and assignment structure let a self-directed learner follow the same curriculum used in the MIT classroom.
