MIT's second-semester freshman calculus course covers vectors and matrices, partial derivatives, double and triple integrals, and vector calculus in two and three dimensions. Materials include lecture notes, problem sets with solutions, exams, and in many versions video lectures, all published through MIT OpenCourseWare under a Creative Commons license. The course builds from vector algebra and the geometry of lines and planes toward gradients, divergence, curl, and the integral theorems (Green's, Stokes', and the divergence theorem) that tie multivariable differentiation to integration. It is designed for students who have completed single-variable calculus and are moving into the mathematics needed for physics, engineering, and applied science. There is no instructor interaction or official certificate, but all course content is free to access and use for self-study.
